The Learning Resource Centre

Both the Kowloon City and Lai Yiu campuses have a learning resource centre where students and teachers extend learning experiences outside the classroom. Both resources centres have extensive book collections as well as multimedia resources and computer technology available for student use.

The Learning Resource Centre at Kowloon City opens early and closes late to provide students with a friendly, safe space to study and relax with friends before and after school.

We encourage all students to read not only for learning, but for pleasure. Reading is such a vital part of our lives and our goal is to develop a love for reading as well as the necessary academic capacity in our students! We have a wide range of resources available for loan, including "Playaway" audio books with accompanying texts.

Digital and information literacy is also becoming increasingly important in today's "connected" society and we integrate computer technology to ensure that our students are equipped with the technical skills that will enable them to succeed in an increasingly complex digitally oriented environment.

Students should present their library ID card at the time of check out -  but we can help them out if they forget their card! Returned books and library materials can be deposited in the book drop.
High School students who have overdue books and fines may need to clear their library account before borrowing more books.

The prevailing philosophy of the CAIS library program is summed up in the following statement to everyone in our learning community:  “The answer is yes!  What is the question?”
