Celebrating 25 Years of God’s Faithfulness
In 1992, Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School (CAIS) began operating with 40 students at the Kowloon City Campus. The School has grown to more than 1,000 students, with more than 12,000 student years of learning over these 25 years. Hundreds of students have grown up from their roots at CAIS and matriculated to colleges and universities throughout the world, and proceeded to countless careers and professions. The School was founded upon the belief that a personal relationship with Jesus changes everything. Remembering our roots and foundation, the 2016-17 school year will feature many commemorative activities centered on the theme, Celebrating 25 Years of God’s Faithfulness.
25th Day of School
The 25th day of school was celebrated on Tuesday, September 27, with special visits from the CAIS school mascots, Azul at KC, and Spark at LY. The theme for the school anniversary is Celebrating 25 Years of God’s Faithfulness. Everyone joined together to form the number 25 for an aerial photo at each campus to commence a series of anniversary events throughout the school year.
Celebrating 25 Years of God’s Faithfulness is the theme for commemorating CAIS’ anniversary throughout the 2015-2016 school year. More than 400 students, parents, alumni, staff, and friends gathered for a community BBQ on Saturday, October 15, including burgers and hot dogs from the grill, face painting, cotton candy, and a special visit from Azul, the school mascot. Mr. Enns reminisced a bit about the School’s growth from 40 to over 1,000 students, and the global impact graduates are making in their chosen careers and professions. Student musical performances wrapped up a beautiful, sunny day. Warm thanks to all who attended, with special appreciation for student, parent and staff volunteers who helped make the day a big success!
Staff Appreciation Dinner
The annual staff appreciation dinner, held on Wednesday, November 23, focused on the 25th Anniversary theme, with musical performances from some staff members, a special anniversary song, and a sumptuous dinner. Staff were excited to receive a number of lucky draw prizes, provided through the generous support of members of the School Registered Management Committee, KTAC guests, and these sponsors:
Christmas Cup (U20 Basketball Teams)
CAIS hosted the annual Christmas Cup with U20 basketball games played against International Christian School (ICS) on Friday, December 2. Besides the CAIS/ICS face-offs between the boys and girls teams, teachers from the two schools showed off their sporting abilities in a competitive contest.
Both KC and LY Campuses will host special carnival booths in a Spring celebration to be held on Saturday, March 25. Similar to the annual Open House held previously, this will be an opportunity for the whole CAIS community to say farewell to the KC and LY facilities before the migration to the new campus over the summer. Buses will be provided to transport attendees between the two campuses, with the bus route passing by the new Butterfly Valley campus en route.
Campus Farewell Week
Students and staff will post farewell messages, such as notes, paintings, poems, and other creative expressions to share their beloved memories of their years at CAIS, during the week of June 1-9. A special farewell wall will be designated for display of these mementos.
25th Anniversary Celebration Dinner
A semi-formal anniversary dinner is being planned at a dinner hall, concluding the anniversary celebrations on Friday, June 9. This will be a ticketed event, with more details available soon.
