About CAIS | Educational Objectives

CAIS is committed to provision of a quality academic program in a nurturing environment. A good education involves much more than simply delivering an academic curriculum, teaching facts and techniques, or granting a diploma at the end of grade 12. How we teach is at least as important as what we teach. The School supports an inquiry-based, student-centred, and differentiated approach to teaching and learning. CAIS utilizes varied instructional resources, including but not limited to textbooks, and employs a variety of media in developing research and information processing skills. The integration of technology in teaching and learning is strongly promoted. Underscoring all aspects of the school experience is a commitment to integration of biblical principles into all curricular, extra-curricular, and relational aspects of the school experience. The School aims to provide students with a quality school experience that will prepare them for the work place or further education, as well as develop a foundation of core values and character that will facilitate becoming citizens and leaders of integrity. The School purposes to provide a nurturing environment in which students: develop a relationship with and love of God ; develop biblically-based ethical and moral values; feel accepted, appreciated, and valued; feel fairly and justly treated; experience meaningful relationships with peers and teachers; learn to think critically and develop creative problem solving strategies; are able to differentiate between fact and theory, identify truth and falsehood, and discern between right and wrong; accept responsibility for their decisions; develop an enjoyment of learning; and feel a sense of pride in, and ownership of, their school.
