Advanced Placement® (AP®)
The Advanced Placement®(AP®) program is a cooperative educational endeavor between secondary schools, colleges and universities. The AP® program provides motivated Grade 11-12 students the opportunity to take college level courses in a secondary setting. Students who participate in the program not only gain college level skills, but can earn college credit while they are still in secondary school. Subject to student demand, tutorial sessions for select AP® courses such as Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Macro-Economics, Micro-Economics and English are taught at CAIS.
Selected students may have the opportunity to write Advanced Placement® exams in May each year whether they have taken the instruction provided by the School or not. For more information about the Advanced Placement® program, please visit http://apcentral.collegeboard.com/.
CAIS also offers a unique opportunity for Hong Kong students to enhance their academic portfolio by gaining credits in a broad range of Advanced Placement® (AP®) courses and attaining an AP International Diploma (APID) qualification. Whether you have taken open exams like IB, IGCSE or HKDSE, or have previously completed AP® classes, the one-year Grade 12-AP program has proven value in facilitating successful applications to universities, as well as preparing students for tertiary success.
