The arts add brilliant colour and a sense of rhythm to the CAIS program. Students engaged in the arts think creatively, express themselves dynamically and experience fulfilment in academic life. It is an important facet of a CAIS whole child education.
Arts in the Classroom
At each grade level, CAIS students explore their creative side. In art classes, students learn to draw, paint, sculpt and get to know the techniques of diverse artists and styles. In music classes, students sing and practice instruments. They discover the sounds of different musicians, composers and genres. We also integrate art into our other courses to breathe fresh life into the material, combining information with inspiration for a dynamic school experience.
CAIS students have opportunities to engage in the arts outside the formal classroom as well. For example, primary students sing in harmony through the Voice of Lions choral group. Secondary students also engage in artistic extracurriculars such as the Arts Club. CAIS desires to help students discover and continue to develop their artistic gifts in the classroom and beyond.
